Tech Entrepreneurs Set Up Their Own War Room For Nashville Flood Victims
**UPDATED!! – 5/6/2010 3:02 p.m. (Below)

While everyone may be preoccupied with national news coverage concerning the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico or the water main leaving millions without access to clean water in the Boston area, Nashville is underwater and doing everything they can to stay afloat.
Much of the recovery can’t actually begin until the water levels recede, but that isn’t stopping Nashville’s developer community from donating their skills to help lessen the impact of disaster on the community.
The local group of Symfony developers met at the headquarters of Centre{Source} (just footsteps from the downtown flooding) to work on building a site dedicated to connecting flood victims with furniture, extra rooms, resources and more.
For more information check out the Nashville Symfony Google Group page.
EDITORIAL NOTE: You can bet we’ll be updating this page with new information once they have something up and running.
UPDATE #1 – Chip Hayner has made public the basic wireframe for the project that’s been dubbed “Donate Nashville”.

UPDATE #2 – 5/6/2010
Chip Hayner, who has assumed the role of project manager for DonateNashville, said the group hopes to have a functional beta site up by this afternoon — with an “official” launch happening the following day, just as the flood waters are predicted to disappear for most of the city.
They’re also partnering with WeAreNashville.org, which is being run by CoolPeopleCare to offer additional assistance. T-shirts featuring artwork by local artists will also be available for purchase through the site — with the proceeds going to help flood victims.
Will update this post with screen shots whenever they become available.

Fantastic stuff Tom, would love to get involved wherever I can help. Will have to hop on over and drop a line to Chip.
Thanks for the shout out. We're really excited about the cases and posters.
Wish I'd seen your earlier photos of the cases actually going through the paint job — would have posted sooner.
