FastPitch Nashville 2010 Canceled?

FastPitch Nashville, the culmination of a three-part competition to showcase great entrepreneurial ideas won’t be held this year, according to the official web site, which states that the event (originally scheduled for March 30) has been canceled until next year.

Neither the web site nor the official Twitter account give an explanation for why the final event was canceled and the page also doesn’t list any information for contacting FastPitch organizers.

The cancellation means the first two stages of the FastPitch competition — PitchCamp and OpenPitch — were for nothing for anyone who attended, seemingly. But I’ve personally never been through the process so take that for what it’s worth.

It’s a shame FastPitch didn’t happen given the relative success it had the previous year, which saw Nashville favorites Nicholas Holland and Jackson Miller taking the third place slot in 2009 for SideHobby’s gpsAssassin iPhone App launch into the main stream.

If anyone else has information on the matter, let us know and we’ll post it in the main feed.
